The legend
Sthira — “the steadfast”.
Mauryan sculptors knew that what matters most should sit on the plainest stone. Sthira is a pair of offset plinths in Mint sandstone — quiet, immovable, content to serve whatever the day places upon them.
The two blocks nest and separate as the room requires, each carved whole, with hand-eased edges that soften the geometry.
Every Sthira is carved to order in our New Delhi atelier — the block chosen with you, the proportions tuned to your space, the surface finished by hand. Reference size: 120 × 60 cm + 80 × 50 cm, in a hand-honed finish.
Plinths once held gods. Now one holds the evening tea.
