Kunda
The legend
Kunda — “the stepped pool”.
The stepwells of Rajasthan turned bathing into architecture a thousand years ago. Kunda carries their stepped rim and chiselled texture into a freestanding tub of Dholpur sandstone — a private baori for the modern house.
Inside, the stone is honed watertight and warm; outside, the chisel band remembers where the form came from.
Every Kunda is carved to order in our New Delhi atelier — the block chosen with you, the proportions tuned to your space, the surface finished by hand. Reference size: 175 × 80 × 58 cm, in a honed, chiselled band finish.
At Chand Baori, three and a half thousand steps lead down to the water.
