The legend
Madhya — “the meridian”.
In every durbar hall the throne stood on the centre line, and the day was decided along it. Madhya — “the middle” — takes its stance from that line: a console carved to hold the centre of a room the way the gaddi held the centre of a court.
Every Madhya is carved to order in our New Delhi atelier — the block chosen with you, the proportions tuned to your space, the surface finished by hand. Reference size: 160 × 40 × 85 cm, in a honed finish.
In a durbar, one line mattered more than the walls: the centre line.
